Volume 3: 2009, pp. 125-150; ABSTRACT
This paper presents an approach for analysis of operations management policy parameters using an integrated material requirements planning (MRP) and costing framework. The approach provides a valuable methodology for teaching business process integration between physical production activities and cost accounting. A model based on the approach provides operations management students a tool for analysis of the effects of operations policy (lead times, lot sizes, etc.) on the performance of the enterprise in traditional financial statement format.
